Characteristics |
Culture cell line was established from in vivo cell line by Kudo (CCR,
Tohoku Univ.). This yolk-sac tumor was obtained by the following treatment.
Pregnant rats were laporatomized on 12th day of gestation. The uterus was
incised and all fetuses were taken out of the uterus. The fetal membranes,
including extraembryonic yolk-sac attached to the placenta in situ, were gently
pulled out into the peritoneal cavity. The incised uterus was not closed, and
the abdominal wall was sutured. According to these treatments, yolk sac tumors
producing AFP developed in fetal membranes. Cultivation with dibutyryl-cAMP
(1mM) induces morphological change similar to neural cells and myotubes.
